- ABBREVIATOR Quick Start
-
-
- The Quick Start section has been provided to give you a brief overview of one
- aspect of ABBREVIATOR. To realize the full potential of ABBREVIATOR, it is
- recommended that you read the enclosed manual.
-
-
- 1.Place the distribution disk in your disk drive.
-
- 2.Make the drive the current drive. For example, if the disk is in the A
- drive type A: and press <Enter> at the DOS prompt.
-
- 3.Activate ABBREVIATOR by typing ABBREV and pressing the <Enter> key. As
- ABBREVIATOR activates, a number of informational messages will appear on
- the screen. The last message should be "Installation Complete".
-
- 4.Return to your primary work drive. For example, if you are using a hard
- drive labeled C, type C: and press <Enter>.
-
- 5.If possible, leave the distribution disk in the drive. The Quick Start
- introduction attempts to update the disk. If the disk is not available,
- an error message appears. If the message appears, respond 'A' for abort
- and continue with the introduction.
-
- 6.Start your word processing system in the normal manner.
-
- 7.Position the system as if you were going to start typing a new document.
-
- 8.Type in the key sequence INTRO= .
-
- 9. The "INTRO" abbreviation should expand into a full page of text. Please
- read and follow the instructions.
-
- 10.After completing the introduction, shutdown your word processing system
- in the normal manner. There is no need to save the document.
-
- 11.Get a cup of coffee and "enjoy" reading the documentation.
